Mr. Hickey brings over 27 years of investment industry experience to his role at Cleary Gull. He is responsible for advising institutional and high net worth clients regarding investment policy development, asset allocation and risk management. As the head of our Private Client Group Equity Strategy Team, Joe contributes to Cleary Gull’s strategic and tactical asset allocations.

Prior to joining Cleary Gull, Mr. Hickey was Managing Director of Investment Banking with Tucker Anthony Sutro Capital Markets where his duties included syndicating and underwriting the firm’s public and private equity offerings.

Mr. Hickey received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and his Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. He is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute and the Investment Analyst Society of Milwaukee. He is a frequent speaker at investment and business leader forums on topics such as global economics, portfolio management and investment market bubbles. 

Mr. Hickey has a Commercial, Multi-Engine Instrument rating and is an Angel Flight Volunteer.  He also volunteers for Latin American Medical Providers, www.lampcharity.org, a team of medical professionals that provides medical, surgical and dental care to the neediest citizens of Guatemala.
